Objectives

" Antygone Today" is the continuation of a previous European mobility project, being implemented through two youth exchanges. The first took place in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France and the second in Athens, Greece. As a follow-up project, "Antygone" cultivates the sensitivity and responsibility of each individual in the face of the problems of integration and social inclusion of young migrants and the rights of non-European citizens. Based on Sophocles' "Antigone", a reflection on human rights is introduced, making the link with the problems of today's youth, in the context of the refugee crisis. The aim is to establish an artistic and non-formal approach to a prominent European challenge: the successful integration and inclusion of new migrants through the introduction and adoption of a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. The objectives are : - Strengthen young people's participatory attitudes and skills while exploring intercultural relations and new socio-political perspectives; - Promote intercultural dialogue through non-formal education for the benefit of young people's well-being and their mobility and career prospects; - Establish a culture of tolerance and non-violence; - Stimulate the openness of youth organisations and, more broadly, youth work in Europe; The method relies on: - the use and study of classical ancient theatre as a tool for identifying and discovering a space for solidarity and reflection on contemporary European issues.Participants are introduced to various theatre and improvisation techniques, body movements and a series of non-formal learning activities, which allow them to become familiar with the culture of tolerance and non-discrimination. - the principles of non-formal learning and are designed to achieve the objectives in a participatory and creative way. The learning techniques are based on the 8 key competences and on three complementary levels: 1) new knowledge ; 2) development of transversal skills, such as problem solving, creative thinking and communication; 3) the adoption of cooperative and participatory attitudes. The impacts are twofold, at local and European level. 1) They multiply the benefits of cooperation as a lifelong attitude 2) They disseminate the learning and training mobility opportunities offered by the Erasmus + programme. The active exchange of practices between the partners strengthens the international dimension of youth work and transforms it into a more structured European practice. The project conveys a positive and accessible image of the Erasmus+ programme.
