Acro Connections takes place in Brivezac in a rural area with a beautiful natural environment, but also few opportunities for young people in the region. They tend to feel disconnected from their life, their civic duty, their job or their activity. Instead, they feel more like prisoners of their own society and end up having a bitter taste for European values such as multiculturalism and a hostile attitude towards displaced persons. This situation is a good starting point for the we want to explore together: the limits and potential of youth work with marginalized and disadvantaged groups (minorities, refugees or other disadvantaged youth groups). In circus and acrobatics, dialogue, discussion and exchange of experiences, challenges and perspectives in the work world of participants, we actively explore and explore our own potentials and limits of youth work with at-risk youth. We want to discover how the social circus can contribute to the empowerment of disadvantaged groups and the promotion of European values. The project aims to involve local residents, youth workers and artists from various parts of Europe to exchange and develop educational tools using acrobatics and the social circus as a source of inspiration and encouragement. We want to empower young people, remind them of their potential and the opportunities of their environment and show them how to become active agents in their personal lives and in their development as members of their community.
