Objectives

Bij integrates international openness and the European mobility experience as a means of affirming the autonomy and European citizenship of young people. An experience abroad of any length allows one to acquire a better self-confidence, opens one's spirit to other soft skills, cultures, lifestyles and allows to acquire new competencies ... All of these elements promote adaptability and learning. This is why the organization of a youth exchange is an integral part of the Bij project, as it helps to raise young people's awareness of this mobility opportunity. This amplifies the European and international dimension of the projects set up by Bij. Finally, welcoming young Europeans creates a network around Bij. The "Let's Break Barriers" exchange will allow participants to compare their points of view with other young Europeans on different topics related to migration and living together. This will be an opportunity to promote tolerance among young Europeans and towards minorities and to become aware of their place in the European Union in the context of elections. The aims of the Bij are identical to those of the Erasmus + program since they aim to: - Promote the acquisition and / or reinforcement of key skills of young people, • the social and civic skills of young people. Indeed, this exchange aims to promote the active citizenship of young Europeans, European values in the context of European elections. • the cultural sensitivity of young people: participants from different European countries will discover new cultures and share theirs. This promotes tolerance, respect, European citizenship and intercultural dialogue • the participants' foreign language skills: English is the language that will be used daily in exchange. Participants will also be made aware of the languages of each delegation (French, Portuguese, Greek and German) during language activities. - Enhancing non-formal and informal learning through the Youthpass, which attests to the experience gained, presents the exchange as a non-formal and informal learning experience and allows, concretely, to highlight the skills acquired / developed / reinforced by the participants. These skills can be mobilized in many contexts, which notably contributes to the employability of young people. -Improve and reinforce the Bij experience and the cooperation between the Bij and youth structures in mobility projects and the sharing of good practices. Indeed, even if the Bij is an experienced structure, it is important to always question and reposition yourself in order to be closer to the needs of young people. Each mobility project contributes to strengthening the experience of the Bij by welcoming young people and by working in cooperation with a foreign sending structure, which is not the same from one year to the next -To increase the motivation of young people to participate in other training after the exchange, their self-emancipation and self-esteem. - Integrate the new ideas of the participants expressed during the assessment times. Our goal is also that the professionals of the Bij can enrich themselves, in terms of professional practice, thanks to the progress brought by the young people. We are therefore committed to supporting and developing their entrepreneurial spirit We are interested in the situation of migrants in Europe because it is a complex topic that concerns us all and questions European solidarity. But there is not just one type of migrant or only "migrants" or "refugees". We want to break stereotypes and prejudices against migrants, which is a generalized and broadly negative approach. These four countries have different positions on the issue of migrants. Indeed, Portugal is one of the most migrant-friendly European countries, compared to Austria and Greece. France, meanwhile, seems mixed on the issues of reception, integration of foreigners and treatment of undocumented migrants. This exchange will then be an opportunity to discuss citizen-institution relations and European citizenship.
