Objectives

This European project is part of an international one that will bring together400 youth workers from Africa, Indian Ocean, Asia, South and North America. It will take place in Poitiers from November 27 to 31 october 2019. It is carried by a collective of associations from the “Progressive Education” at the international level. It aims to bring together Youth Workers: practitioners and educators to rethink education in a holistic and lifelong approach, in view to the transformation of educational practices with individual and collective emancipation These associations are members of three international networks: International Federation of Movements of Modern School, International Federation of CEMÉA, Lien (former International League of Progressive Education). They refer to a common set : the Progressive Education movement is an idea born in Europe at the beginning of the 20th century on the initiative of scholars and pedagogues (Piaget, Wallon, Montessori ...) This international meeting is related to the need for collective reflection about the specificity of youth workers using a new education pedagogy in the accompaniment of young people in economic, social and family precarious situations. We will study the learning conditions of these young people and the complementarity between the formal and non-formal educational spaces dedicated to youth. Three main objectives: - Sharing the fundamentals of Progressive Education in order to build a common culture at the international level by revisiting its history (with conferences and panels). - Exchanging practices for a co-training of youth workers from different countries and associations: forum of practices to discover projects, approaches and actions. - Discussing Youth Issues: Issues, Proposals. The Forum of Practice will be enriched by theoretical contributions and reflections of eminent intellectuals during the conferences and round tables. The articulation between these two dimensions founds the crucible of social transformation. Four axes of reflection to question the issue of accompaniment of young people: - Knowledge & emancipation by and for young people - Progressive Education & educational innovation: -Progressive Education & Training - Cultural creation as a support for the accompaniment of young people. The project will have a local impact by sharing a better local understanding of youth issues in the light of the international experience. The development of other European projects and the involvement of young people are foreseeable as the associations are in many international networks. The communication strategy will be based on the partnership of the French National School of Education, a dedicated website (http://bien.cemea.asso.fr/);
