Objectives

CONTEXT OF THE PROJECT Sport takes an important space in the life of all, from the earliest ages until the oldest and plays a determinant role in the promotion of the “living together”. It contributes to the social and cultural diversity, to the citizenship training of the youth. However, these values are not always well valued. Are the youth really conscious that sport allows sharing of social and cultural values? That it drives to a discovering of the others and so of us? That it supports social diversity? From one part, we can see a clear increasing of the identity withdrawal, going with some nationalists moves in Europe. Since around fifteen years, the electoral scores of the extreme right parts, on a European level, are increasing and scarring for the future of an multicultural and socially diverse Europe. In partnership with its twin cities in Europe, the town of Coulaines, which supports local policies on Sport for all, would like to answer to the needs of youth from different countries to meet and exchange. Supported by Concordia, experienced organisation on the setting of intercultural projects, especially in the frame of the Erasmus + program, the town of Coulaines organizes this youth exchange on these themes in order to give to the youth the possibility to see what is happening in each country represented. AIMS The main objective of this project s is to lead youth to perceive sport as a space for social and cultural diversity, to support them to develop their initiative spirit and their critical sense. - To give the possibility to the Youth to experiment sports exercices to enhance individual and collective inclusion, - To support young people to understand that they actually have an acting power in the world they live in - To provide opportunities for the exchanges of experiences and competences of young people from different countries - To think about the changes that youth would like to live in the society, and the impact they want to have as a group - To develop communication tools which can be used by the participants back home in their organizations/communities, towards the youth, elected people and professionals.
