Vaunières (6 km from the village of St Julien en Beauchêne, 40 km from the city of Gap). This small hamlet placed in the heart of the “Hautes Alpes” is managed by the organisation “Les Villages de Jeunes”. It has been rebuilt from the ashes since 1964 by volunteers and workers coming from all around the world. Nowadays there is people living and working all the year and groups of people from different origins coming to spend his time in this place. People come to make a break or to meet a different way of living. In Vaunières one of the main values is the fact of taking pleasure of doing something together, the results doesn't matter that much. The moment of the year where we host more people is during summer, where snow melts and Work-Camps happen. Is thought the best moment to meet the project and create valuable exchanges with people from different social and geographical origins. Is in that moment where this Youth Exchange happens. This would be the 7th consecutive year that we organize a Youth Exchange in the Hamlet named “Melting Potes: Imm-agination” The main topic will be the human migrations: We are going to use non formal tools to un-build the stereotypes around immigrations in Europe, starting from an historical axe (past, present and future of the migration fluxes). In the actual context of Europe as a hosting place for exiled people, where is growing racist ideology’s is needed to offer a space to step aside in a safe context. The project will allow the participants to reflect on a critical way around the situation. To express and disseminate the conclusions the group will create some art workshops during the event Melting Potes.
