Objectives

European Diversity Summercamp 2019 is collaborative and transnational project of european mobility directed at young LGBTI people that are faced with sexual orientation and gender identity based discrimination. The state of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex (LGBTI) youth’s human rights is an essential concern that still remains a marginalized issue in many decision-making spheres. Since 1985, MAG Jeunes LGBT has been working for the inclusion of LGBTI+ youth and fighting all types of discrimination that may occur. We acknowledge the need for inclusive societies where our voices are heard. MAG is one of the most pro-active organisation on a european level. We have been working for many years to organise international exchanges aimed to create opportunities and facilitate the personal development of young people all over Europe. Summercamp aims to create a opportunity of mobility for young LGBTI people. We collectively organise and work to maintain this project as our LGBTI organisations are almost entirely run by unpaid volunteers. More specifically, LGBTI Youth organisations are oftentime struggling to make big projects happen. Summercamp 2019, as well as the other Summercamps before creates a wave of involvement, capacity building throughout the rest of the year for our organisations. Summercamp is a unique event for LGBTI Youth and it collectively help us reinforce our volunteer teams in education, facilitation and healthcare prevention. Projects such as Summercamp 2019 is the result of a collaborative effort. As a recuring project, Summercamp has been contributing to devellop an european identity and foster the values and goals of international youth exchanges. Our main task will be to promote values of anti-dismination and human rights and finally create an mobility opportunity for the european LGBT youth. We envision a brighter future where all LGBTI+ youth can have access to equal opportunities and equal rights. A world where LGBTI+ youth can aim and achieve their dreams without fear of exclusion or marginalization.
