For the past 6 years, the New Aquitaine Region has been hosting the European High School Youth Orchestra, made up of young musicians who are citizens of the regions twinned with this French region. In 2018, following the territorial reform, the orchestra succeeded in expanding its network of partners with new participants from Poitou-Charentes and Limousin, as well as their twin regions. Based on this success, the partners decided to take a new step: to make this project autonomous. Accompanied by the New Aquitaine Region, the District of Moyenne-Franconie (Germany), the Region of Gozo (Malta), the Lycées de Galati (Romania), La Réole, Aubusson and Angouleme (France), the Scuola di Musica Carlo e Guglielmo Andreoli Foundation (Italy) and the Maison de l'Europe de Bordeaux conceived the MYEO project. This project is aimed at 51 young Europeans who will be moving to Bordeaux (France) from 12 to 18 May 2019. High school students, musicians, apprentices and amateurs, young European volunteers and young NEETs from the priority districts of the Bordeaux Metropolitan Area will be involved in this 6-month mobility project. This mobility is dedicated to group cohesion, artistic and entrepreneurial creation and musical training. The young musicians will rehearse together. These rehearsals will be as much a time for sharing as for intercultural learning. They create their own repertoire, accompanied by a conductor, and work upstream in their schools. Accompanying persons will be asked (according to their skills) to take part. Five young European volunteers, commissioned by the Maison de l'Europe in Bordeaux, will attend the preparatory meetings. They will accompany the young people during their stay and lead the meetings. This project will be the subject of study by young NEET students in digital and web radio training at the Rocher de Palmer. They will produce several tools for the digital promotion of the project: a website, video portraits of the participants, a promotional film. This project will allow them to apply the skills they have acquired and develop their creativity with other young people. Young people will be asked in advance to propose their ideas and state their expectations. They will give 2 concerts: at the Rock School Barbey (Bordeaux) for the young volunteers of the New Festival and at the Rocher de Palmer in front of 1200 young people from the Region. They will participate in various cultural discovery activities, creative workshops, rehearsals and a dialogue session with elected representatives from the New Aquitaine Region and partner regions. A workshop will be organised to enable them to write their Europass CVs. Thanks to the digital tools developed by young NEETs, residing in priority districts (right bank of Bordeaux), high school students must, at the end of the project, be able to seek funds (in their countries: sponsors, patrons, local authorities, etc.) to continue this collective adventure in 2020. throughout the year and during a mobility workshop, these young people will start work to launch a Europe-wide crowdfunding campaign and to mobilise foundations that support young Europeans' projects and projects in the field of music. The digital tools produced will be used to support the fundraising campaign for future mobility (in Germany, Romania, Italy and Malta). This project will enable participants to develop musical, artistic and entrepreneurial language skills related to mobility and intercultural dialogue. Its purpose is to develop the participation of young people in the decision-making process and in defining the future of this orchestra. The aim of this project is to become an example and a tool for promoting the mobility of young people during their apprenticeship.
