Objectives

The consumption of humanity exceeds what nature is capable of producing, this is well known. We consume on credit from natural resources stocks and we ask more of nature than it can renew. Designing products with less impact on the environment and a more sustainable use of resources is a key issue and would be a fundamental goal, in terms of sustainable development but also innovation, research and development. In pedagogical terms we must also make people aware of their consumption choices and promote the exemplarity of certain practices. Through this project we want to raise awareness about ecology and consumption patterns, to become more environmentally friendly and take the direction of "zero waste". We want to think about tools and practices to reuse and recycle objects and disseminate knowledge and best practices. For that, we envisage several stages in this project: 1) A reflection phase, to be held in Latvia, on:  - How to reduce the amount of household garbage and food waste, by driving a change in our consumption patterns?  - How to make the largest number of people aware of zero waste?  - How to relay awareness and thus reach a larger number? 2) an implementation phase, which will be carried out in Latvia and France, through:  - Workshops and games to talk about waste, discover the raw materials used for the manufacture of our objects, to know the diversity of waste that our bins contain, to discover the sorting in the various European countries to make the good sorting.  - Visits of sites to understand the way of the waste and the importance of the respect of the instructions of sorting with the work of the sorters on the chain and to discover the possibility of giving a second life to the objects of the everyday life (trinkets, crockery, furniture ... ).  - Workshops for the manufacture of natural cleaning products and reuse: divert objects intended to be discarded for use in another way (draft notebook, cans, plastic bottles ...). 3) A phase of perspective, which will be done in France, for:  - Create educational and communication tools around the project,  - Set up awareness-raising actions to reduce food waste and move towards zero waste, This project aims to develop the skills and qualifications of young people on this fundamental theme in our modern society and has as a cross-cutting objective the participation of young people in civic life and the construction of their critical spirit. The form of reciprocal exchange will make it possible to get to know each other better and to see concretely on the spot how this theme is developing in these two countries and what are the possibilities for joint actions and how they can be broken down in these two European countries with different cultures. Thus active participation in the European construction and citizen initiatives is done through the concrete meeting of the other, the fact of knowing and sharing a little about its reality, its daily life ... For us it is also a question of reinforcing the role of international exchanges as an essential tool of identity constructions open to the "other".
