Objectives

This project is focused around a social entrepreneurship created for and by youth, thanks to two youth empowerment organisations in France (YES Akademia) and in the UK (The Youth Project). The background is inspired initially by Brexit and that youth wish to not fear anymore the complicated political context which has emanated in Europe due to many external factors. Hence 26 youth participants (including 6 group leaders), 50% girls and 50% boys, from France and the UK, will come together in Carmaux and Paris, aged 15 to 30 years old, to create a solidarity project centred around social entrepreneurship and finding solutions to keep Europe united. The objectives of the project are to have youth lead a project thanks to intercultural exchange methods and social entrepreneurship to act in solidarity on a European level. They will be able to broach topics around refugees, migration, the environment and taking initiative in challenging times. The activities will consist of fun pedagogical intercultural workshops, creating partnerships to raise funds for useful social initiatives, at least 15 different workshops throughout the PSCC on topics ranging from self-awareness, professional development, social entrepreneurship, business plan creation, and figuring out how to interact in an intercultural fashion with various inspirational speakers. The follow-up actions which consist of the creation of a blog with videos and photos, and sharing information on social media. The youth will create their blogs and share their impressions throughout the experience and thereafter. The methodology used is one of youth empowerment and international cultural exchange and cooperation, gathering youth from diverse backgrounds to co-create a meaningful society project. The results will be the exchange of many viewpoints on how you create a project from A to Z, which is youth-led and of course the actual usefulness of creating social initiatives, gathering over 100 youth in Paris thanks to this activity and interacting with youth and groups leaders all backgrounds, notably refugees and asylum seekers. The impact will be a renewed sense of friendship and cooperation among youth from France and the UK and a long-term curiosity which will deepen the knowledge and understanding of the youth on important societal issues in Europe and globally. The longer-term benefit will be to increase solidarity actions among French and British youth, and to carry out other exchange programs for youth in France and other countries with similar objectives and methodology. The youth will then be empowered to bring these issues to the next level if they decide to incorporate this in their professional careers. On a personal level the youth will benefit from this experience in the long-run because they will create important cross-channel friendships and new understandings.
