Objectives

With the project implementation, we wanted the visions and plans described in our Development plan to become a reality. Our LONG-TERM PLAN is to redesign the school to make steady progress and bridge the gap between creative practice and technology use. We wanted to improve in areas of INNOVATIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING PRACTICES. In the following years, we want to use an interdisciplinary approach and an outdoor environment as classroom teaching media. In implementing the project, we provided instruments to develop activities that are incorporated in the outdoor school learning classes. Teachers are more ready to motivate the students to carry out cultural and also science-orientated research projects using the task-based methodology. We wanted to allow the professional development of our new and young colleagues, teachers, and non-teaching staff to work on their professional skills like curriculum knowledge and targeted methods and tools and also on the school's strategic development and internationalization. We tended to expand teachers' internal and international networks and sustain connections with several European schools.

Background

We have recently focused on mastering new IT knowledge and skills needed to work with students online, communicate with parents, and cooperate. With this project, we wanted to gain more knowledge, ideas, and skills to develop new, more innovative, and recognizable curricula and implement classroom activities through teamwork more successfully. We realized that our students need more practical exercises and outdoor activities. Furthermore, teaching and assessing cross-curricular skills that teachers find challenging will be much more comfortable with gained knowledge through courses and job shadowing. Quality professional development builds confidence, and teachers will be more ready to see the teaching process from different perspectives and create purposeful learning in their classroom. The implemented project strengthens the intercultural awareness of both teachers and students. Our team has grown younger and more extensive in the last three years. We introduced new colleagues to the Erasmus projects we are implementing, and most expressed interest in participating in such a form of professional development.
