With this project, 1st Primary School Varaždin wanted to achieve several goals that it set as a long-term development plan:improve competences of teachers and professional associates; improve education quality; develop European dimension of the school; encourage multicultural awareness among employees; increase the motivation of students for learning and employees in work; improve the language and digital competences of employees. The project is aimed at improving the competencies of teachers and professional associates in working with gifted students. The general goal of the project, aimed at students, is to meet the needs of gifted students such as the proper potential recognition and learning in an innovative way that encourages motivation and creativity. The specific goal of the project, which is aimed at teachers and professional associates, is to encourage competences for gifted student’s recognition/identification and to implement innovative teaching methods. The goal aimed at parents is to facilitate the upbringing of gifted students and to improve communication with the school. The goal directed at the institution is to improve the school curriculum, the curriculum of work with gifted students and improve student results.
1st Primary School Varaždin places work with gifted students as an important pillar in the realization of the vision to enable quality education and upbringing of all students through the competence of its employees. Systematically takes care of gifts and organizes additional activities for them. There is also the knowledge that it is necessary to educate oneself in the field of giftedness to make the quality of work with gifts as high as possible. Since until now teachers and professional associates did not have the opportunity to acquire education in the field of giftedness, we focused on improving competencies and acquiring knowledge through the project.
