Objectives

We wanted for our students: – architectural technicians and construction technicians : learn how to make an interactive visualization of a building and make calculation of a model of building because BIM Revit programme is not incorporated in our teaching planes yet. – general care nurses: learn how to apply modern techniques in chronic wounds treatments; - physiotherapist: learn the new methods of pneumonia and decubitus prevention. – agro technicians: learn in real life situations the process of animals breading, that because they have got the subject Animal breeding only in theory, but according existing curricula, they do not have practical training. – architectural and construction technician: to learn how to design passive solar house. – agro technicians: learn planting dendrological deciduous species. Landscape architecture is part of agro technician curricula. We wanted for our vocational teachers: - an architect: upgrade skills in designing architectural projects and 3D views; construction engineers: to upgrade skills in designing wooden roofing and reinforcement in ArchiCAD because that option is not often used in Croatia. Doctor of Fine Arts – sculptor: learn design determinants and to learn tiled-stove design

Background

The aim of the project has been to enable our students to gain modern acknowledgments and practical skills applicable to labour market in Croatia. We have also use those new acknowledgments to modernize existing curricula and offered our students practical training for that there are no enough capacities in Croatia. Our aim also was to offer our teachers additional acknowledgments and skills that will be implemented in school subjects they teach. Another aim was to prevent lack of interest for our vocational programmes because the programmes we offer are important for our community and the labour market in Croatia seeks them. To meet our admission limits and realize the aim of rising up the mean value of marks for at least one point with the new students who apply in the first year of architectural technicians, construction technicians and agro technician’s programmes, it was necessary to offer our teachers high quality courses so they can upgrade their teaching to become more attractive, more modern and to offer distinctive modules. We believed that the biggest benefit for our school would be improved visibility of the school through dissemination activities that would lead to bigger interest for the school in the future.
