By implementing this project, we wanted the students to acquire skills in their field of work, develop new entrepreneurial skills, initiatives, improve their knowledge of a foreign language and develop their communication skills. The aim of the project was also to improve students' self-employment ability, apply teamwork and adapt to a new work environment, solving more complex tasks in unforeseen and unknown situations and adjust in different situations. We wanted to motivate and increase students' interest in understanding the value of education and integration with European education, as well as performing already familiar tasks in a new environment where they will acquire new experiences later in their work and labor market. Internship abroad will enable students to be more competitive on the labor market, have better references and greater knowledge in their field of work, but also provide an ideal opportunity to apply the learned teaching content, and improve other skills and competencies. We also wanted to promote interculturality and increase students' European values.
Encouraged by the previous successfully implemented KA1 project New Horizons, and feedback from the students who participated in these mobilities, we decided to apply again with a project in which our students have the opportunity to do internship abroad. The school has been implementing European projects for many years and has gained a reputation as a school that promotes the European dimension and provides additional activities to students, we raise the quality of education and vovactional skills, we increase the interest of young people for vocational occupations, increase and encourage the learning of foreign languages in communication and in the fields for which students are trained. Our motivation was for the students to acquire new knowledge and skills that they cannot achieve in Croatia, because the school is located in a small, rural area in Slavonia and students do not have the opportunity to do their internship in high-end hotels. We believe that the experience they gain on mobility can help them gain important work experience, develop self-confidence, communication, language and social skills, teamwork, and it opens up new opportunities for further education or employment.
