Objectives

Economic trends place demands on vocational schools for the continuous introduction of new technologies and competences as well as the development of school curricula. By involving students and teachers in mobility, we want to create conditions for monitoring these trends. Accordingly, we want to improve the conditions for the internationalization of the school, cooperation with partners from EU countries, and develop the school's curricula in that direction. By implementing the GameINg project, we wanted to advance the competencies and skills of the targeted group of students in the Video Game Development industry. The students were supposed to acquire new skills using innovative technologies during professional practice in the EU, as well as develop work habits, an entrepreneurial spirit and a sense of professional responsibility, build self-confidence and strengthen teamwork skills. In addition to the professional aspect of this mobility, we also planned to improve the social skills of all involved in the project through upgrading knowledge of foreign languages, personal development, understanding of other cultures, active participation in society and developing a sense of European citizenship and identity.

Background

Prirodoslovno-grafička škola Zadar implements education programs for Graphic editors-designers, Web designers and Media technicians, professions that use technologies that are developing at a high speed. The management of the school, together with the teaching and non-teaching staff, is focused on strengthening their competences, and thus on the better education of students in accordance with the national and European labor market. In addition to regular subjects we encourage students to do additional work and improve their skills through extracurricular activities and informal forms of learning. The school recognizes trends of growth in the field of Graphic Technology and Audiovisual Technology in other EU member countries as a good example of the symbiosis of vocational education and the labor market. We wanted to enable the students of our school to acquire certain relevant competencies in order to be competitive on the labor market. In the future, we want to give priority to quality assurance in the teaching of innovative and creative professional knowledge and skills, related to the fast-growing video game industry, with which participants will be competitive on the labor market and participate in its growth and development.
