Objectives

Trough youth work we have recognized the importance of the migrant crisis on the EU level and how much it affects the young. Most of the countries have accepted quotas on the number asylum seekers that will be provided with shelter, food and help with integration into society (trough language courses etc.) In order for the immigrants to become successfully integrated, it is equally important that the local community is well informed and educated about the importance of inclusion, tolerance and acceptance of diversity. Ignorance leads to radicalism, xenophobia and can easily escalate into violence. Trough youth work we recognized the need for empowerment of the youth in the field of tolerance, inclusion and prevention of radicalism. The aim of the project is to raise awareness in young people from similar rural communities about the migrant problematic with the goal of increasing tolerance, solidarity and better social inclusion of the migrants among the young. We have recognized the question of inclusion of the migrants as a very important topic in all of the countries from which our project partners come from, and therefore the young will be able to learn about the importance of social integration and acceptance of different and diverse people trough workshops, group and individual exercises and peer education.
