Objectives

Young people are naturally curious about the world around them but many do not have the opportunities to actively explore other cultures and countries. Inability to explore new worlds can have detrimental effect on young people's development. At the same time, as great writer Mark Twain put it: "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." Travel is a powerful weapon for fighting discrimination and social inclusion in the society, and this is the ultimate mission of this youth exchange. At the same time, in the modern world a lot of the cultural diversity is dieing. In this project we will combine the preservation of local tradition with modern technologies - video and photography. Through this young people will see that modernity and traditions can coexist. Objectives: 1. increase participants ability to interact with other people through intercultural understanding, tolerance, acceptance and inclusion 2. develop appreciation for your local cultural heritage 3. strengthen non-formal education component and improve international networks of partner organisations The project seeks to address the following needs: - more international and intercultural experiences for young people - more intercultural experiences for young people in provincial and poorer areas - increase awareness of ERASMUS+ in more rural and provincial areas - more awareness of the need to protect and preserve your local cultural heritage - more tolerant and accepting youth - more non-formal learning activities provided by partners - active participation of young people in their local communities - increased self-confidence and self-esteem - increased motivation for taking part in future international projects
