Objectives

The youth exchange "Include some Drama" has the objective of raising awareness about social inclusion of youth with fewer opportunities and lack of motivation, to actively participate in today's society and express their needs, concerns and start making changes in their surrounding, to take part in the democratic life of their countries. It will show youngsters who are lacking direct contact with their international peers and older generations, that their voice in important, that it counts. The project will bring together participants from various backgrounds, to work together on a common topic that directly applies to them, with non-formal and informal methods, as well as theatre methods to raise cultural awareness, to show them that theatre is not art only meant for older generations, but that with help of interactive improvisational methods they can actively spend their free time, express themselves, their needs, expand their boundaries and make society aware of changes that can be done. We want to encourage youngsters to speak up, to get out of their everyday routine and comfort zone, to explore the world, the languages, the people, the cultures. Participating youngsters will express what bothers them in modern education systems, learn how to have reasoned discussions, to see their everyday situations in school and home from another perspective. Through visible results of their work in the community, they will easier realize the importance of solidarity, they will get encouraged and motivated to change things that bother them in their surrounding. Participants with fewer opportunities will get equal possibilities despite their disadvantages to participate in youth activities, travel to Croatia, meet their peers from different parts of Europe, thereby build a multicultural and multilingual network of friends that think and live alike as active citizens of their society. They will gain valuable skills and competences, which will help them in important phases of their lives such as finishing high school, searching for jobs, finding their place in their communities, choosing and starting university, etc. The gained skills will offer them advantages on the labor market for their employability, they will become more open, empowered and braver to start changing their situations for better, instead of just sitting at home and passively complain. All of these objectives match the Erasmus+ objectives for 2019.
