Objectives

Short-term, medium-term and long-term goals were formulated by the project team, in which we explained in detail the joint steps and activities necessary to achieve the goals. In the short term, primarily closer collaboration and cooperation between colleagues. In the course of our educational work, in addition to the vertical superimposition of the curriculum, continuous cooperation between the working communities, education and teaching of horizontal, interdisciplinary connections appeared as a priority goal. In the medium term, the goal to expand the possibilities offered by the Accredited Talent Center arose. E.g. language exams in German, Spanish and French in addition to English, continuous development of students' language competences in close cooperation with the ECL language exam center. Continuous help and support of non-Hungarian speaking students is a constant need. And in the long term, it was clearly formulated to train a much more modern, inclusive group of teachers equipped with a more European pedagogical approach, based on non-violent and authoritarian communication, instinctively aware and radiating professionalism, who represent this approach and pass it on to their students.

Background

Our institution has never implemented a tender project based on this kind of international cooperation, so the management and the members of the language workshop decided to seize the opportunity offered by the Tempus Public Foundation. In our school, the presence of children from foreign cultures, mixed marriages or families who have settled from abroad is becoming more and more noticeable every year, and they require individual treatment and personal care. The majority of the teaching staff was not adequately prepared for this, either humanly or professionally. Therefore, in accordance with the concept of the European Development Plan, we formulated the "internationalization" of the school as a primary priority, the first step of which is further training of teachers in this direction, the adoption and adaptation of foreign good practices, dissemination among colleagues, and then long-term institutionalization. And last but not least, based on my previous individual experiences, mobilities can give teachers a professional, physical and mental boost, the positive returns of which they can profit a lot even years later.
