As a result of the planned mobilities we were hoping to gain new inspiration and good practices in working with Generation Z, especially in the following areas: 1. STEM 2. Technological and Methodological Development 3. 21st Century Competences 4. Experince-based Education Our previous mobility projects enhanced innovative methodologies in teaching foreign languages. Staff members of the foreign language department were leading the change and offered professional support to the whole staff through open lessons, training and mentoring each other and initiating professional debate. This new mentality was hoped to be implanted in the whole team, especially STEM teachers who have long been struggling with juggling the huge amount of materials to teach and the low number of weekly lessons. It is also very challenging in STEM education that classes comprise of a high number of students, which makes experience-based education extremely difficult. The current project was planned and hoped to offer practical solutions for the problems mentioned above.
We gained excellent experience in our previous Erasmus+ projects, which made us realise that mobilities positively affect not only the participants but our whole staff can benefit from the innovative solutions and methodologies. Sharing good practices proved to be inspiring. Our traditional competitions for primary school students were also organised in innovative ways in the past few years and these have contributed to a growing interest in our educational institution. New methodologies have made the teaching and learning process more effective and strengthened students’ motivation. As a result, many of them excel at national and international competitions, take successful language exams successfully apply for admission to the best reputed universities in the country. Our international professional network has also widened and successfully launched a new student exchange program and two KA2 mobilities with partners we got acquanted with during previous project mobilities. These were the most important reasons why we created the current project, „Cracking the Code to Generation Z” in order to gain new insiration and support to our institutional development.
