Early School Leaving / combating failure in educationTeaching and learning of foreign languagesICT - new technologies - digital competences

Objectives

1. Increase the methodological preparedness of teachers We were looking for training courses in which language teachers learn best practices abroad and apply them into their own pedagogical practice. Four colleagues took part in language training so that they could receive methodological training effectively in the next application. Among the mobilities chosen there was an activity that promised excellent methods for modern education and the creation of a "happy classroom". 2. Prevention of early school leaving In carrying out the activities mentioned in the preceding point, we hope to ensure that our students take advantage of the four years available to them at school and take a successful baccalaureate exam. 3. Internationalization The expansion of our external relations is a continuous objective in the school, as our students are happy to participate in international projects and study trips abroad. We would like to ensure that the majority of teachers speak at least one foreign language and participate in programmes with the students. We have set ourselves the goal of finding colleagues among the participants of the courses with whom we will be able to cooperate in the long term. 4. Education for healthy lifestyles and environmental awareness An important requirement of our pedagogical program is the support of environmentally conscious, healthy students, so we were pleased to receive the application of our PE colleague for this type of course. This activity was included in the entire project because it contributes organically to the objectives of both methodological renewal and prevention of early school leaving.

Background

For the first time, our school applied for the mobility of its employees – in previous years, it was possible for teachers to take part in study trips abroad, but these trips were individually organized or related to the escort of students. We regularly organise international programmes, trips, study trips and Erasmus+ projects for students. For the first time, we have decided to establish some common priorities to gain not only individual but also community experience by conducting international study trips. First, together with the teaching staff, we prepared the European Development Plan, in which we formulated the goals that we would like to achieve in the field of internationalisation of the school in the near future. This included the development of foreign and target language education, the expansion of the language competence of teachers, the modernization of education, not only in the case of foreign language teaching, but also in the field of public knowledge and skills subjects. Our school has close relations with German, Italian, Polish and Finnish schools, our students can participate in international projects twice a year ,and they bring home their expectations towards more innovative and motivating teaching methods, the ones they experienced abroad during the exchange weeks. However, we also receive a lot of information from accompanying teachers about the new methods and strategies they are working with in schools in other states. It is also a compulsion to acknowledge the changes. This was not an issue for the teachers involved in the project, but we also set ourselves the goal of making a greater acceptance that there has been a generational change in schools, and this new generation can no longer be taught in traditional methods. So our main objective is: 1. in addition to modernising language education 2. promoting the methodological diversity of education, thereby encouraging teachers to constantly innovate methodologically, 3. creating a more balanced, "happier" school and a latent goal 4. prevention of early school leaving, which we believe is best achieved by providing students with a suitable environment and a good level of European knowledge.
