Our major goal was the development of our students’ professional language skills, acquiring different forms of speaking and writing skills, and the processing of visual and other information through practical experiences gained at the workplace. In the field of theory-based economic training we set out to learn and integrate the structure of dual training in Germany, develop intercultural awareness and, as a result, by the end of the learning process the students would get an insight into the German entrepreneurial attitudes, while at the same time their personal and social competences are also strengthened. The accompanying teachers have studied the professional areas of the dual education of the partner institution and have shared the good practices acquired abroad with the school management and the teaching staff. Furthermore, we have shared relevant materials with our foreign partner institutions, thus increasing the professional reputation of our school. Our long-term objective is to further expand the network of contacts with the experience we have gained. As a result of the changing labour market expectations we have held discussions with our partner to update the professional program of further mobilities.
Our institution has several decades of experience in the field of internationalisation. Based on our previous experience we organized the implementation of our application around three main strategic goals. Our primary aim was to promote the employment of our students both in the national and international labour market and the acquisition of the necessary competencies. In addition, we wished to develop the professional and linguistic competences of our teachers by improving their digital skills, methodological renewal as well as their European perspective. We also focused on deepening and expanding our cooperation with the Regionales Berufsbildungszentrum Wirtschaft der Landeshauptstadt Kiel. We have invited Samuel von Pufendorf Gymnasium in Flöha as a partner in the vocational training projects – as an intermediary institution – in order to expand our previous institutional relationship. With the above goals in mind, we have accomplished a 3-week professional internship practice for our students during two mobilities in the continuous presence of one of our teachers.
