Objectives

1. The main objective of the project was to give students the opportunity to experience real working conditions in non-domestic conditions and thus to increase their professional knowledge, learn new methods, techniques and procedures. By exposing students to international working conditions and standards, we would encourage them to learn more consciously and develop a sense of professionalism. The school's vocational education and training aims to prepare students for higher education and to train professionals with the professional skills to succeed in the world of work. With this project, we wanted to give students an idea of what the world of work is like, how to cope with it, what the expectations are. 2. We also wanted to develop the language skills of the students. This could be important for them in the future, as language skills are now essential in their professions. Within our institution, we try to give as much theoretical knowledge as possible, but it would also be very important to have practical knowledge of one or more foreign languages, as many international companies offer jobs in their field of activity, where the lack of this is an irreplaceable disadvantage. The project has helped to motivate them to learn languages and to strengthen their language competences, thus helping them to find jobs in international companies more easily after completing their studies. 3. We also aimed to involve students in a summer internship The Vocational Training Act and the framework curricula require students to participate in a summer work placement. This will enable us to make constant progress not only in the development of our students, but also in our teaching methods and curricula. 4. The opportunity provided by the competition will give our school the chance to test the quality of our curriculum and its international relevance in a foreign context. We have done this in the past in other educational institutions under the Comenius programme and in 2017 we had the opportunity to do the same in a real working environment with Erasmus+. 5. we can learn about the structure of organisations abroad, and students can learn what it's like to work in a working company, where they have not only rights but also responsibilities, from the age of teenagers. They can use their experience to set up businesses at home. 6. Students' adaptability and integration into the corporate culture can give them an advantage when applying for jobs both at home and abroad. 7. Our school will be part of European quality education, professionalism and students will experience what it is like to work in a European company. 8. Students become more mobile and develop professional and friendly contacts. 9. They will be more open, accepting and confident by the end of the project. We want the project to help highly qualified students leave school on completion and reduce unemployment in the region.

Background

An important aim of our school and the vocational training we provide is to prepare students for higher education and to meet the needs of the labour market. We strive to provide students with opportunities for continuous self-training and exposure to the real world of enterprise. We believe it is important that students are familiar with the latest technologies, tools, methods, standards and machines and are able to use them. This requires a high quality of education, teachers who are up to date with the latest knowledge, well-equipped laboratories and workshops, and the opportunity for students to do work experience in a real workplace. This project gave our school the opportunity to do just that. In addition to providing students with a coherent summer work placement, it gave both students and accompanying teachers the opportunity to learn about the working culture of another country, real working conditions, the latest trends, tools and knowledge, and thus to improve their professional knowledge and language skills in a foreign environment. The school's highly qualified teaching staff, well-equipped laboratories and workshops and the implementation of the Erasmus+ project ensure the school's dual aim of preparing students for success in higher education and training professionals with the professional skills to enter the world of work after graduation.
