Objectives

The main objective of the project is that the students of stablemen and small-scale food producers can spend their practical training in an environment equipped with modern technology and with friendly people. The main objective of the project for students of stablemen and small-scale food producers to spend their practical training in an environment equipped with modern technology and with friendly people and to be able to acquire new marketable knowledge. We would like them to improve their language and communication skills, as well. We would like the theoretical and practical teachers and the colleagues of apprenticeship places to acquire new practical experiences which are important for their careers. We also would like students to pass on their acquired knowledge to other students and give presentations for them. One of the main objectives to implement the project is to motivate the agricultural schools and the Equestrian Federation to take part in the international vocational training network. We also want our students and educators to be motivated and take part in this network. We considered it important to modernize the key competencies of students and educators, and to acquire new innovative knowledge for their profession. We want to motivate our educators to learn new technological knowledge and apply it in their work at home. We considered it important for our schools to join the international teacher and student exchange program.

Background

In the Hungarian education system ensuring appropriate apprenticeship places for trainees is the biggest problem. The facilities of apprenticeship places, high-quality organisation of work processes, cost-effective operation and profit-oriented work are not yet at an adequate level in Hungary. Agricultural professions are less popular among students, the depopulation of the countryside is also a difficult factor. The offer of trainings at agricultural schools and the curriculum are not up-to- date. The cooperation of students, educators and entrepreneurs is insufficient so they cannot implement the goals of the training. The education of stablemen and small-scale food producers and the equipment of the apprenticeship places don’t meet the requirements of the labour market. The students of agricultural schools are not so motivated, the participation of agricultural schools in international projects is weak. We applied for this project so that various agricultural schools, the Equestrian Federation, and the Dél-Alföld European Union Civil Non-Profit Association coordinating the projects could cooperate with foreign partners to renew the trades of stablemen and small-scale food producers.
