Objectives

Context The current project started from the initiative of 4 young people from Debrecen (HU) at end of a previous YE “Our Dances” when noticed that encountered difficulties in managing their budget. Thus Attila Hidasi, one of the students came up with the idea to initiate a project that will answer their need. Due to their desire of acquire financial competences that will help them to organize their personal and professional life after graduating high school, they contacted some of the participants from HU, BG, RO and LT that were attending the YE as well and pitched their idea to them. They found it very useful and decided to contact our association to support and help them organize the project, which we agreed on without hesitation. Needs of the participants Most participants come from rural or small urban environments where are not so many opportunities for young people and they feel the need to take action and create it for themselves. Therefore, this project responds to the need of young people to learn, develop and improve their current situation and future, by putting the emphasise this time on financial literacy due to their interest to increase their competences in this field. This need of them to acquire financial literacy came from a practicality when during a projects’ mobility in a foreign country encountered difficulties to manage their personal budgets and their soon graduation determine them to realize they need to learn more about how can plan their own finances. The participants underlined that they want to improve their foreign language abilities as well and broaden their intercultural understanding horizons; all these in an intercultural nonformal context. The participants that actively are taking part of this project are pupils from Alytus Adolfas Ramanauskas-Vanagas gymnasium (LT), Liceul Teoretic Octavian Goga (RO), Szilády Áron Gimnázium És Kollégium (HU) and PMG "Ekzarh Antim I" (BG) and beside the help of all the partners organisations, they will also have support from their teachers in terms of preparatory meetings and dissemination events in their schools. Goal Increase the level of financial literacy of 48 young people from HU, BG, RO and LT in order to improve their capacities to manage their budget once they get to their independent lives and empower them to actively get involved in the creation of the youth exchange that will take place in Paradfurdo, Hungary between 15-24.08.2019. Objectives planned to be met until the end of the project: O1. Increase the level of financial knowledge, skills, attitudes/behaviours of 48 young people from HU, BG, RO and LT in a safe intercultural learning context. O2. Raise awareness of the Erasmus+ programme and of the importance of financial literacy acquired at an early age in the local communities from where the 48 young participants are coming. O3.
