Objectives

The main aims of the project 'Green is the new black' is to exchange methods of creative recycling, to find solutions for environmental problems and sustainability with the help of creativity and design and to give an intercultural learning experience to young people through creative recycling. During this programme we work with an integrated group, meaning that part of the group will be young people living with special needs or disabilities, or coming from disadvantaged circumstances. The target audience is youth between 18 and 30 years of age. Objectives: - to develop skills for life while working with waste materials - to communicate with design and creativity -to create and recall „new” by making useful items and objects what can be used in everyday life -to draw attention to the cultural differences that arise from regional and social situations -to provide information, share best practice and experience in the topic of sustainability and environmental changes - to improve social, personal and professional skills. The topic of the project is based on young people's and our environment's local and global needs. The main organizers are young experienced youth workers and entrepreneurs. We consider the theme of creative recycling as a very important issue. We use methods of non-formal education: holding workshops, working in small, big and mixed groups, sharing experiences, giving feedback, holding midterm and final evaluation, holding a green inter-cultural evening. Activities include skills-development workshops on cultural awareness, art and design, self-assessment, improvement of key competences, sharing best practices in creative recycling and project planning, cultural presentations, outdoor activities, voluntary work. We involve participants in all project phases, they take an active role in the preparation(by preparation for the green inter-cultural night, collecting materials) and the implementation of the program - by the end of the program they will organize interactive workshops for locals where all the techniques and ideas of creative recycling they acquire during the exchange will be presented to the audience. They integrate the results of the youth exchange into their daily activities after the program is finished during the follow-up period and they put their new ideas into new projects.
