The main reason to hold this activity is a clear need for entrepreneurial education in our network, which includes more than 20 organisations where about 800 people are actively working. Specific issues we are addressing with the 'First Steps' project: Unemployment Youth unemployment is significantly high in Europe. Disadvantaged youth is missing good examples to have around, therefore we target youth workers with our training. New concepts and practices of work In the past years the forms of employment has changed radically, the old forms and concepts are not working anymore. Youth workers need to adapt to new kinds of employment such as freelancing, entrepreneurship, being part of an NGO, work on project-base, all new alternative forms which were not existing before. Many times this brings frustration, instability, anxiety about the future. Raising quality in Eramsus+ projects Due to the overload and stress of youth workers, the lack of cooperation within the organisation, or lack of commitment there is a need to raise the quality of the projects realised, because we see often last-minute organisation and / or communication. Global and social challenges The challenges we face today are different than before, today we talk about climate change, unemployment of young people, consumption habits, fastly changing labour market. Young people are expected to face and solve these world challenges, and they need to develop entrepreneurial skills. Objectives of the project are: To improve and renew the practice of local youth projects of partner NGOs To improve youth workers’ professional competences in social entrepreneurship – so they can support their own staff and the ideas of other young people To train skills for planning and coaching, to share best practices, practical tools To encourage the creation of new projects in the Erasmusplus program, use and recognition of Youthpass, opening of new NGOs
