Objectives

Our project draws attention to the strengthening of solidarity related with social disadvantages, hereby it focuses on the social sensitization. During the youth exchange, we concentrate on the strengthening of the helping and supportive attitude with needy, homeless, socially disadvantaged people, the participants will take part in activities related to this context. The idea of the project came by the fight against prejudice and exclusion, and it tackles important social questions such as: unemployment, the situation of those living below the subsistence level, employment poverty, disadvantages from unexpected life situation or health difficulties, exclusion, livelihood difficulties. Because of the weightiness of the topic, the participants will process in an interactive and mainly practical way; the learning process will be helped by non-formal equipment. The primary aim of the youngsters, who initiated the topic of the project, is to pursue an international dialogue about an topical theme, which affects Europe. Through the dispute, they can share their own experiences and they can enrich themselves with experiences, equipment, and knowledge related to social coexistence and solidarity, which help the strengthening of the accepting and open attitude in their own communities. Nowadays, existential insecurity is dominant in every European country in the case of many vulnerable social strata and groups (for instance youngsters, undereducated, single parents. The breakaway of these groups, the exclusion and discrimination have a decisive role in the developed countries also. The basic conditions of social coexistence and community cooperation are solidarity, acceptance, openness, which are common values of the European community. A part of the citizens does not show openness and acceptance, it primarily represents rejection and exclusionary attitude against foreign cultures, other nationalities or deprived individuals and groups. The citizens and the major society have a huge responsibility in the integration of needy, socially disadvantaged, poor and excluded people. Sensitization stands in the focus of the youth exchange, which helps the cognition of social processes, strengthens consciousness, and develops the openness to social issues. Our aim is to give adaptable practices and methods to the participants, which helps not only the continuation of the current youth exchange but the sustainability of the results also. During the youth exchange we would like to present in a playful and interactive form the social psychological processes in society; thus reflect on the influence of companions on our own behaviour.
