We also wanted to promote the motivational impact of vocational training abroad among students and staff. Many of the colleagues who teach the vocational subject think that they need to learn a foreign language and/ or improve their language skills in order to be able to mentor students who go abroad and/or to participate in further training abroad. Our language teachers are keen to develop their language skills. In addition to methodological experience, participation in the project also ensures active use of foreign languages. This is also a very important element of our strategy, as we want our teachers (alongside the language teachers) to use a vocational foreign language in their professional classes. We expected the implementation of the project to have both short and long-term effects on the development of the professional and linguistic competences of both students and colleagues. We also counted for an increase in the commitment of our learners to the their profession. We thought that gaining professional experience abroad, alongside in-service training at home, could ensure that this goal was achieved, and that the involvement of faculty members in international projects could contribute to fulfilling our vision.
The mission of our 95-year-old school is to educate and train our students to meet the challenges of today's world, both professionally and personally, while preserving and respecting our precious traditions. We offer our students a pathway and a perspective which offers them the opportunity to build a professional career at national and European level, to develop their individual interests and development for the benefit of the individual and society. Based on these principles, we consider mobility to be of the utmost importance as a basis for building a professional career at European level, in order to develop their foreign language skills alongside their professional improvement. In our internationalisation strategy, we have set out our intention to continue and expand our successful learning mobility schemes. We have planned a significant change from our previous mobility projects, and we wanted to focus on the professional training of our trainers alongside student mobility. We wanted to achieve one of our main strategic objectives, which is "To provide the teaching staff of the institution with up-to-date, high-quality knowledge and professional training using newly acquired and improved competences and methods".
