Project summary

Our traditions on an environmentally conscious manner! Give your caring to our Earth! The theme of our project is old and current at the same time. From a specific point of view, we process our national traditions and celebrations in an environmentally conscious manner. During our everyday educational work, we experience the wasteful behavior of the holidays, mostly in an environmentally burdensome manner, so we have to transform our habits. Our project aims to influence families through the education community via the children. Using the digitalized world, we share our programs and ideas at online and personal meetings. We are joining campaigns to take the families part in to solve real problems in our immediate environment. We show new habit system and pattern of behaviour. Responding to the challenge of the present in the project, based on our experience, together with our 2 partners, we want to achieve a change of attitude to focus on internal content instead of exterior design and to strive for conscious customer behavior (for example: do not buy mass products produced by polluting processes). Cooperative thinking and working across borders and beyond. We capture and share our results by making films. We take advantage of ICT tools. It is a good practice not only for teachers but also for children aged 3-7 to communicate online. Our goal is to make the holidays environmentally conscious in kindergarten communities. Results: getting to know the national traditions of the three countries, exchanging experiences, learning new methods and ideas. The project implementation can be followed on the institutions' websites and on Facebook. The effect of the project is that the attitudes of teachers and parents will change and become more sensitive. Through the program, young children acquire basic skills appropriate to their age, which will later be incorporated into their routine. They will be able to make environmentally conscious decisions. The environment and image of the institutions show a positive change, and their recognition is growing. The teachers' global outlook is expanding, their linguistic and ICT skills are evolving. New fruitful partnerships develop, and educators are happy to participate in international projects.

Final report summary

Treat our Earth as a gift! The theme of our project is to process our national traditions and holidays from a specific perspective, in an environmentally conscious way. We incorporated it into our daily educational work and tried to make it a habit so that we do not behave in a wasteful way during the holidays and do not burden our environment unnecessarily. The teaching community wanted to influence families through this project with the children's help. Using the digitized world, we shared our programs and ideas online and in face-to-face meetings. We have successfully demonstrated a new order of habit and pattern of behavior. In the project, responding to the challenge of the present, building on our experience together with our partners, we achieved a change of attitude so that during the holidays, institutions pay attention to the internal content instead of external content and strive for conscious customer behavior (e.g. do not buy mass products made with environmentally polluting processes). As a result of cooperative thinking and work, we also instilled this approach in the parents. We took advantage of the opportunities offered by IKT tools, and the children -aged 3-7 years- communicated online with their kindergarten peers. We achieved our goal, we organized the holidays in the kindergarten communities in such a way that we were able to keep environmental awareness (e.g. we used natural materials). Our results: we got to know the national traditions of the three countries, we actively participated in them, we got to know new online interfaces and, mainly through them, we looked into the program's execution. We gathered a lot of knowledge based on experience, which we shared in professional and family circles. The effect of the project is that the attitudes of teachers and parents have also changed, they have become more sensitive to their environment. Small children have acquired basic skills appropriate for their age, which will later be incorporated into their habit system. They are able to make good decisions and think green. The environment and image of the institutions changed positively, and their strengths were recognized at the international level. The teachers' language and IKT competences have improved. New, fruitful partnerships and friendships were formed. The educational boards were happy to participate in an international project. Our most important goal is to achieve a change in attitude among children aged 3-7 and our families, so that they realize what they can do on a daily basis for their health. We didn't get their attention with big things or huge events (that's not our task and we didn't have the means), but with ordinary, small activities, we managed to get them to pay attention , to see their results, the change.
