The core objective of this project was to give our learners the opportunity to build their knowledge skill and competence by engaging in a vocationally specific work placement in Norway or Spain. Affording learners the opportunity to experience work and living in another European county, to experience new and innovative ways of working and learning, provides the opportunity to grow and refine their vocational skills and competencies, while developing greater intercultural awareness and language skills. Through the management and implementation of this project and through working with our partners SCFE intends to develop the capacity to build sustainable European partnerships and provide Erasmus+ mobility opportunities for learners and staff in the future.
Our aim is to provide opportunities for our learners to learn, achieve, and succeed in all aspects of their lives by promoting the development of vocational, personal and social skills and competencies that will enable learners to access the labour market or progress their education, while becoming active citizens at a local and global level. We endeavour to provide learners with meaningful learning and personal development opportunities beyond the prescribed curricula within a European framework. At an organisiational level this project aimed to ensure that SCFE will increase capacity to continuously develop and improve the quality of our educational provision by including an international dimension. To engender a sense of European citizenship within our core values as educational institution and to promote equality of access and opportunity to learners from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds.
