Background

There had been a break of several year in Cork College of Commerce offering VET Teachers and Learners the opportunity to meet, engage and be inspired by other educational environments. An approach by a teacher from Noorderpoort Groningen in early 2019 provided us with a relationship that would support Cork College of Commerce to restart a mobility partnership. The college was often contacted by Erasmus+ colleagues seeking to develop a partnership but the meeting with Noorderpoort convicned a group of volunteer teachers and management that there could be a great deal learned and gained for learners and staff from engaging on a Erasmus+ mobility project with Noorderpoort dur to their scale of programmes and being over two decades ahead on a consolidation and reform programme that Cork College of Commerce was just beginning to start on as a Cork Education and Training Board VET college. With the support of Noorderpoort a draft plan of mobilities and projects were developed to build capacity. To host learners on learning exchanges and supported work placements relevant to their pedagogical areas of stuff. For staff, structured sessions and visits would be needed to demonstrate the best practices being developed in another VET centre
