Objectives

'Breaking Walls Building Walls' youth exchange, proposes to bring together young people from European and Middle-Eastern countries to Cape Clear Island off the south west coast of Ireland in order to foster their inter-cultural understanding and competencies as well as to provide them the experience of a nature experience together with the learning and adaptation of a sustainable and traditional handcraft, dry stone wall building, that was used in many regions in the world and which is common to all the participating countries in this proposed youth exchange. The objectives of the youth exchange are: - To create a safe learning space for a nature experience - To educate young people in traditional and ecological handcraft and to repair/build dry stonewalls as an inter-cultural cooperation project - To support the inter-cultural learning between young people from the participating European and Middle Eastern countries. - To bring down culture and religion-based stereotypes and fight xenophobia among young people - To create a space of sharing experiences with walls in conflict areas - To be physically active through outdoor activities -To participate in the preparation and cooking of food and cleaning of the accommodation.
