The T.E.A.M. project goal was twofold: - on one hand, the project was designed aiming at a structural update and change of the school educational offer concerning work-based learning (in order to increase teacher preparation for the planning and development of dedicated school patterns, to strengthen the teaching staff ability to connect the school with companies for the planning of new School-Work Alternation activities; to encourage the inclusion of disadvantaged students). - on the other hand, the aim was to experiment with good practices of abroad internships for students. The objective of this activity was not only to offer the Institute's young students new incentives and opportunities, including international ones, for their professional growth (stimulating trust in educational institutions, strengthening motivation to learn, increasing students' awareness of their own learning needs), but above all to be able, to observe and then replicate these experiences in their local context, improving the use of ECVET for the assessment of learning outcomes during students' placements in companies.
The project "T.E.A.M. -sTudents and tEachers educAtion through Mobility" (Grant Agreement No.2019-1-IT01-KA102-006983) was created in a particularly challenging local context: combating school drop-out and youth unemployment are the general objectives of the I.I.S. "Benedetto Radice" in Bronte (CT). The Institute, in fact, while offering technical and professional VET opportunities in key sectors of the Italian economy such as agricultural and rural development and the fashion industry (as well as in other strategic areas for the growth of the country: Construction, Environment and Territory; Computer Studies Technology and Telecommunications; Mechanics, Mechatronics and Energy; Administration, Finance and Marketing), has to face a territorial basin characterised by a marked breach between the world of education and the world of work, but also by a lack of cultural and social opportunities for young people. The decision to apply for the Erasmus+ KA1 programme is in line with the Institute's broader aims of improving its work-based learning offer and strengthening dialogue with local and international productive sectors.
