Objectives

The project implemented, on the basis of the training needs expressed by the Consortium, a European learning path with the objective of offering to the two target of participants innovative and ad hoc European methodologies and tools for the design of more flexible and tailor-made learning plans for the two target groups of disadvantaged learners and which had the positive effect of bringing the school closer to the world of work. In more details, the project provided a concrete answer to the aforementioned needs through the achievement of the following objectives: - Train staff and teachers to make the WBL experience more fruitful and aimed at the future employment of students with specific learning disorders and intellectual disability; - Develop more flexible and personalized pathways to link the formal VET curriculum to WBL for students with specific learning disorders and intellectual disability; - Support mentors and enterprises staff during the WBL experience of students with specific learning disorders and intellectual disability; - Strengthening a national and European network of VET providers and VET stakeholders to foster their active involvement into Alternating School and Work pathways, Mobility and Apprenticeship.

Background

BEST@LLIANCE project responded to a specific need of training and professional development of VET staff carrying out tutoring functions in Alternating School and Work paths, International Mobility and Apprenticeship for learners with Specific Learning Disorders and Intellectual Disability. In particular, the direct targets of participants have been School Tutors (Teachers) and Network Tutors. This last target was represented by those operators of the world of vocational training, associations and the third sector, who for years collaborated with schools in the management of projects aimed at the creation of vocational and qualifying paths and which play a decisive role link between the School and the Labor Market. The final beneficiaries of the project – students with specific learning disorders and with intellectual disability – were identified by the project Consortium in order to respond to their need of having a personalized learning plan including the WBL tailor-made experience, carried out at local or international level. Thus, the project was crucial to train teachers and network tutors in a priority and thematic area, such as the WBL pathways for students with specific learning disorders and with intellectual disability.
