Tourism represents a growing economic sector for the Veneto economy. Despite the health pandemic, and as confirmed by the most recent ISTAT data (2022), the Veneto tourism system has been able to position its offer well after the lockdown, attracting many more tourists from other parts of Italy and thus responding to the inevitable decrease in arrivals from abroad. This resilience and elasticity capacity are strengths of the regional tourism economic system that still contribute to the growth of employment levels, especially for young people. The young unemployment rate in Veneto is still around 20% and the School “G. Medici” that prepares young professional to successfully have access in the job market, has decided to implement “NETWORK” project to reduce the skills mismatch that occurs in the tourism and hospitality sector. This is related mainly to digital and technological skills that are changing economic systems and companies. The strategy chosen for the implementation of the "NETWORK" project was the establishment of a Consortium, consisting of 11 schools, with a tourism and hospitality address, the Consortium of Hotel Institutes of Veneto, Association of Italian Maîtres Italiani Restaurant and Hotel and Union of Cooks of Veneto.
