The project "GA.S.T.RO. TOURI.S.M. - GAthering Skills To Rock TOURIsm and gaStronomy in pieMonte", conceived by the Mobility Consortium coordinated by The Vocational School "J.B. Beccari" of Turin, is part of the tourism promotion strategy of the Piemonte Region that aims to encourage a higher level of integration of tourism with the food and wine sector, while being aligned with the international “Food Tourism” trends of attracting more and more tourists and visitors from all over the world. This strategy also aims to promote more youth employment in the sector, leveraging the potential of integration between the two industries as a driver of growth and an action to combat the widespread phenomena of deviance among young people in the regional territory (e.g. micro-criminality, baby gang, drug abuse) which recorded a significant increase (i.e. about 12%) as a result of the impacts of Covid-19, with the risk of impacting on the rise in NEETs (1 in 5 young people in 2022, according to Eurostat) and young people who cannot find employment, currently 23.1% of the youth population, the highest percentage among the regions of the North of Italy.
