Objectives

Taking these considerations into account, the project “M.O.R.E.” has been design to achieve the following specific objectives: -To develop the participants’ professional, linguistic and transversal competences required by the labour market, affecting their employability; -To encourage participants to acquire skills, knowledge and abilities related to the professional profiles of "Modeler", "Technician of programming and development of computer programs", "Technician of marketing activities"; -To provide local companies operating in the fashion, IT and marketing, tourism and food sectors with adequately trained human capital capable of responding to their needs; -To act on internationalisation strategies and to improve the professional training practices of the Consortium members; -To strengthen the Metropolitan City of Bari’s ability to plan adequate policies to support youth employment. -To promote the ECVET system for the validation of the competences acquired in the professional training courses.

Background

The project “M.O.R.E. – Mobility activity to suppOrt leaRners and vocational Education system” was born to meet the needs of the Mobility Consortium coordinated by the IP “Santarella-De Lilla”, the Metropolitan City of Bari, the IPSIA "Archimede" and the IISS "A. De Pace" regarding the improvement of the region’s vocational training system and its adaptation to the demands of the current labour market. As a matter of fact, the Puglia Region is experiencing worrying youth unemployment rates, registering still in 2022 a percentage of unemployed and not employed people between 15 and 24 years, equal to 34,5% (ISTAT). An alarming situation for the entire regional structure also considered the percentage of N.E.E.T. that in 2022, according to the latest Eurostat survey, reached the quota of 29,7%, placing Puglia among the 10 European regions with the highest number of young people between 15-29 years not involved in any training or employment path. These distortions favour the development of a labour market in which there is no generational competition and highlight how much the Regional VET System is outmoded, with respect to the needs of the market. The outbreak of the pandemic is likely to aggravate this delicate situation
