The project aimed at the development of human resources in the tourism sector. Through the participation in mobility actions abroad, participants acquired specific knowledge and skills in the field of marketing and tourist industry. A particular interest concerned those tourist services called “inclusive”, that are related to all people with disabilities or disadvantaged. The learning outcomes, goal of the project, referred to the “Atlante del Lavoro” (ADA- Activity area: Development of the operational plan of marketing and marketing mix) and the Tuscany Region Directory of professional figures (Technician of marketing activities). The project is addressed to 91 young people enrolled in the last year of the High School or already graduated within 18 months of graduation. The candidates came from 5 schools specialized in tourism, commercial actions and hotel management. The project involved 75 SHORT mobilities and 15 PRO mobilities. As a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the mobilities started in August, even if the participants’ families and all the consortium were worried about the situation. Considering all the difficulties, we achieved the goal of 81 SHORT mobilities and 10 PRO mobilities. One of the short mobilities included a students with special needs.
This project stems from the analysis of the training needs identified by the Consortium during 2018. The network of relationships and the activities carried out by the project partners have brought out the importance of promoting and enhancing the territory called “Alta Toscana”. This area is provided by a great environmental asset, beautiful landscapes and a significant cultural, historical and gastronomic heritage. It is also situated close to the most important cities (Firenze, Pisa, Siena, Cinque Terre) with their international tourist activities. Although these resources, it is able to express only partially its huge potential. The relevant tourist flows are mainly related to the bathing sector, developed particularly during the summer season and strongly connected to Versilia and Costa Apuana. The products of this area (more than 20 DOP and IGP products) such as its natural and historical beauties (dozens of castles, historical residences, the Apuan Alps, the Roman Colony of Luni) are not adequately exploited. In addition, the current tourist offer is not properly organized and linked with the main routes of tourist flows in Tuscany, in order to promote its improvement. Therefore, this territory needs to promote all its resources and make them available to all potential interested parties.
