Objectives

The problems that emerged from the analysis of the context are summarized as follows: - Schools are unprepared to provide the transversal computer and linguistic skills necessary to respond to the evolving needs of the tourism market; - There is a discrepancy between the outgoing skills of school graduates and the demand from the labor market. Therefore, the general objective of the project is to promote the development of teaching in the field of commercial and tourist services with a focus on digitalization and internationalization in the field of tourism, improving the employment prospects of their graduates, through the following specific objectives: - develop WBL routes abroad within tourism businesses with a focus on new technologies; - reinforce the attractiveness of ITEs; - improve the transversal skills of students and teachers; - facilitate the recognition of skills learned during traineeships through ECVET; - develop a local network of schools and businesses to structure a dialogue between these parties; - increase the employment prospects of school graduates (especially those with fewer opportunities), qualifying them through internships abroad.

Background

At the end of the economic crisis, the recovery is driven by the tourism sector of the country, considered central to the development of the country. In this context, the Government decided to respond to the need to place the tourism sector at the center of the country's development policies, preparing the Strategic Tourism Plan (STP), which was able to identify the needs of the tourism market and prepare a five-year development plan (2017-22), with a series of measures and guidelines that all players in the sector, including technical schools, can follow. The STP explains how the "tourism education" system must ensure the development of professional skills in line with the evolution of the sector that are, at the same time, consistent with the positioning of the national offer and priority products. Regarding this, the needs of the consortium are: - improve the employment prospects of their students; - to strengthen the motivational and orientation aspects of students; -provide skills that are more in line with the needs of the labor market; - develop students' soft skills, digital and entrepreneurial skills in particular; - Bringing young people, schools, companies and civil society closer to Europe;
