Objectives

The consortium had the vision to improve the technical and vocational skills of students in IFTS and IeFP schools. The specific objectives the consortium aimed at: -Increasing the employability of graduates of the consortium schools and particularly those with fewer opportunities, foreigners, BES and DSA -The dissemination of ECVET in the construction sector, facilitating the recognition and validation of emerging skills typical of Green Jobs -The improvement of collaboration between schools, construction companies and policy makers, through ECVET tools -The increase of work-based training through work experiences abroad and to the field of sustainable construction -Increased knowledge in terms of internationalization/export and sustainable construction -More alignment between graduates' exit skills and the needs of their target sectors -The creation of a network among FORMEDIL member construction schools, so as to replicate the experience and make mobility work-based training an integral part of the educational offerings

Background

Today's construction system is characterised by a high propensity to export and a marked tendency to innovate, especially in the field of energy and environmental redevelopment. It is therefore strategic for the development of local companies to be able to recruit personnel with knowledge and experience in sustainable construction and strong skills in interacting with foreign companies. In this context, professional building schools are called upon to provide highly qualified training to support the construction sector that decides to invest in energy efficiency and environmental protection techniques. This professional 'niche' is counted among the 'Green Jobs', i.e. new professional figures aimed at producing services with techniques that respect the environment and nature that include 'Emerging Skills' and as such are part of a training gap that must be filled, recognised and validated.
