The MARCO POLO 2019 project pursued the initial objectives described in the project proposal and in the VET mobility charter, thanks to the collaboration and consolidated experience of the transnational Partnership. Linguistic objectives: develop communicative, receptive and foreign language comprehension skills; communication skills related to the interpersonal and cognitive functions of the language. Cognitive goals: know methodologies for moving towards business creation; know cultural, training, technical and operational tools to define their business ideas; self-generating the organizational culture of the sector and self-esteem based on work experiences (teamwork; practice of organizational routines and a direct approach to the new organizational models of the sectors); develop organisational-behavioral aptitudes (awareness of the European dimension of the world of work, ability to analyze one's place in the world of work) Pedagogical objectives: deepen the knowledge of foreign colleagues, cooperate for the realization of a common task/objective, develop socialization skills, conflict resolution, set rules of collaboration and encourage positive and inclusive behaviors, promote the personal growth of each participant . The general (long-term) objective pursued by the project is to place the participants permanently in the world of work, contributing thus promoting the development of the local economic and productive fabric and reducing the youth unemployment rate. At the end of the project, further results were found which exceeded the initial expectations. In the light of the mobilities carried out, the evaluations and the results recorded, the project has responded positively to the initial expectations and exceeded them in relation to the establishment and enhancement of networks and VET organizations, the promotion of transnational mobility paths for young VET learners, the cooperation aimed at valorising the territory and strengthening it in various sectors including that of ICT and Tourism.

Background

Euroform RFS has designed the european internationalization strategy with the specific aim of completing its Training Offer and going to give a high added value to its products, value represented by the transnational mobility actions proposed to complete the courses, and by the innovativeness of methodologies, products and processes resulting from participation in various transnational projects that represent real laboratories of experimentation and innovation (i.e. Strategic Partnerships, R&D, etc.). To achieve the internationalization objectives set out in the Strategy, Euroform RFS has designed a multi-year Action Plan based on an analysis of the external and internal context of the organisation. The Marco Polo 2019 project is fully part of this strategy and has given continuity to the transnational mobility projects implemented over the years. Building on the success achieved by the previous "Marco Polo 2018" project, carried out in the midst of the pandemic emergency, "Marco Polo 2019" was an emblem of rebirth, a return to normality, a desire to move and re-plan life and work projects of many young people for too long left to wait for better times. Spending time in another country to learn and work should become the norm, as should being able to speak other languages than one's mother tongue. Within the project, some key themes have assumed central roles such as social inclusion, environmental sustainability, the transition to digital and the promotion of participation in democratic life by the younger generations. “We have a duty to ensure the right support for those who apply for one of our programmes. The class of 2020 needs us.” This is how Sabine Verheyen, President of the Culture and Education Commission responded, and this is how the Marco Polo 2019 project responded. Years later it is clear to everyone: the pandemic has not ended and will not end in its health dimension but it is having results that they will have a 360-degree repercussion on everyone's existence, radically changing the life scenario and, with it, perceptions, behaviors and subjective expectations, to the point that from now on we will be talking about a pre and a post-pandemic. For Euroform RFS and many young people, the first departure that took place with the Marco Polo 2019 project established a point of return to normality. Starting again from young people, from their opinions, from post-pandemic moods to imagine a future that sees them as protagonists, getting them out of the indistinct magma of a youthful condition that for too many years has been told only with alarming data, understanding for themselves what can actually be done, is an operation of great value that fills an evident void.
