For the learners, the general objective of the project was to improve employability by achieving the following specific objectives - improvement of language and vocational skills specific to each sector - improvement of the sense of belonging to the EU and development of key competences of citizenship and awareness towards sustainability - improvement of motivation, self-esteem and awareness of one's own abilities. For staff, the project aimed to foster - increased ability to differentiate teaching methods; - increased ability to plan teaching of theoretical and practical lessons; - increase in the ability to coordinate a territorial network of companies, families, stakeholders; - improvement of mobility programme management processes. Staff mobility was not realised mainly because of the health emergency linked to Covid-19, although there were ample opportunities for distance collaboration and job shadowing; moreover, Apro Formazione considered a priority to favour the mobility of adolescents and young people, who were heavily penalised by the pandemic, in terms of distancing and isolation, in a period of their lives when exchange and socialisation are crucial.
During the definition phase of the project, Apro Formazione detected the needs of the beneficiaries with focus groups that highlighted some critical elements on which to intervene; as regards the VET learners - poor ability to organise their work and communicate effectively; - poor knowledge of the labour market and motivation towards school and work, difficulties with traditional teaching methodologies; - difficulty in defining their own professional project, uncertainty and fear towards the future, difficulty in focusing on their aptitudes, abilities and potential; At the same time, several positive elements typical of the youth condition were found: - creativity, innovation and energy - curiosity for innovative methods, a desire to play a leading role and socialise - the need to express and fulfil themselves, to be accepted and valued - the desire to experiment and get involved, the need to be listened to, guided and accompanied.
