The main aim is the improvement of the educational offer of Liceo Azuni, with a view to internationalization, inclusion and professionalization. The implementation of the activities included in the project is directed to our staff and students. The internships abroad have a limited duration and are well integrated with the context of the school’s activities, which has always welcomed the improvement of the soft skills which are expected to be acquired and enhanced through them. This context has also been focused on the promotion of the principle of the European citizenship and of the democratic life throughout the whole curriculum. The implementation of the soft skills acquired in the theoretical scope included in the working context strengthens, in a permanent way, the sense of responsibility and self-efficacy of the interns involved. Lastly, the formal recognition of the extracurricular training experiences in terms of credits and certifications, which has been an established practice in our school, has been improved and enriched by the relationship with foreign partners, the Italian National Agency and other organizations that hold the Mobility Charter.
Since 2003 Liceo Azuni has been engaged in the process of internationalization of its educational offer, which has been mostly implemented with European mobility projects (Leonardo LLP – Erasmus +). The will to provide our students and teachers with the chance of formal and informal training (learning by doing), which is complementary with Liceo Azuni’s mostly theoretic and specific curriculum, has motivated the choice of key actions in the VET domain. The geographic location of our school is an element that may increase the risk of isolation; this requires every effort to improve the awareness of being European citizens, which is essential to develop soft and hard skills useful for the professional future of young students. The award of the VET Mobility Charter, which has been given to our school and extended to the period 2021-2027, is the assurance of the continuity and efficacy of the implementation of internships abroad, which are essential to enhance the educational path of our students, especially those who have a disadvantaged social background and fewer financial means.
