Designing my future

2019-1-IT01-KA116-0073632019VET learner and staff mobility with VET mobility charterfinalized
Countries: IT · Grant: €141,574

Objectives

The implementation of the fourth year of the mobility charter had a dual purpose, on the one hand to re-orient the internationalization process in order to overcome or at least reduce the present gap between the skills required by the new professions and the learning paths, which allow students to develop the 10 key skills for 2025 identified by the OECD, not without difficulties. Work scenarios are constantly evolving and the skills required go far beyond hard skills, above all focusing on flexibility, problem solving, team working, creativity, critical and analytical thinking to list only the main ones. This applies in particular to the productive reality of the province of Varese characterized by export and outsourcing. The other purpose applies to the awareness that the school teaching staff has experienced a significant turnover, there are many young new teachers with limited experience in organizing and carrying out international internships, hence the need to provide them with skills to plan and manage European projects and to engage in different contexts.

Background

The project was based on the need to adapt the school internationalization model so that it is consistent with the new working reality, characterized by a rapid and strong evolution of the economic scenario. Schools today cannot disregard a fundamental strategic objective, limiting "skill mismatching" by orienting training to the labor market, a required step in supporting the productive and employment structure of our territory and ensuring that professional, citizenship and lifelong learning skills are guaranteed. The aims of the project are in line with the choices made by the school which assumes the sense of belonging, the internationalization, the link with the territory and in particular with the world of work, as its strengths, not only in terms of opportunities of internship and work-related learning, but also of partnerships with various actors in the local area, open to the international dimension. The internship activities for students and staff respond to the need to offer quality training and professional updating opportunities and to expand collaboration and relationships on an international scale in the training field.
