By implementing the project we wanted to create a staff capable of supporting and enhancing the international aims of our institute, therefore we wanted to improve the linguistic level of the school operators with high quality courses to enhance linguistic competence, teaching and learning of the English language; - update teaching methodologies, to move from frontal lessons to teaching based on the centrality of the student and integrate ICT; - promote quality improvements, innovation excellence and internationalization in particular through international cooperation and comparison Our Institute has for a long time taken place in the CLIL network, has been active in Comenius and Asia-Europe projects and has carried out student exchanges and INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP WEEKS in Europe (Germany, Finland, Sweden, Czech Rep., Denmark, Greece) Asia ( India, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam) and Peru. This project responded to the need for a further internationalization of the school through linguistic, methodological and intercultural training so that our teachers could activate new international projects and support the mission of the school
ITS DELEDDA FABIANI applied for this project to make the school an increasingly international environment by enhancing the communication skills of its staff in English. We are in Trieste, a border city that has always been a crossroads of cultures, religions and languages, an example of integration and peaceful coexistence between communities that have made diversity a source of wealth. This ethnic mix is also present in our school with 87 foreign pupils and intercultural classes. The school has close contacts with the main international research institutes in the area, many of which use English as the target language, with the university and with stakeholders. The priority of our PTOF is strengthening the linguistic area and the one of international projects as we believe it is essential to offer students opportunities for personal, intercultural and linguistic growth in a global dimension. Their future work will be based on international relations or will be in countries other than Italy and communication will take place through English and ICT. Hence the need to have a staff capable of supporting and carrying out these purposes.
