Targets: 1. Growth of teachers' professional skills aimed at the development and growth of students 2. Development of new knowledge and teaching methodologies 3. Improvement of teaching and educational-didactic programs 4. Improvement of interdisciplinary learning 5. Increase of comparison opportunities with other school systems 6. Increase of the spirit of belonging to Europe The project was carried out within the aims of the Institute which reflect the lines of Lisbon 2020 promoting lifelong learning at all levels, from primary school to lower and upper secondary school, improving the quality and effectiveness of students’ education through teacher mobility training; promoting equity, social cohesion, active citizenship; encouraging creativity and innovation. The realization of these aims has allowed to promote the acquisition of fundamental transversal skills such as digital skills, learning to learn, the spirit of initiative, sensitivity to cultural issues, diversity and globalization. A second and important objective was the development of a synergistic relationship between education-research-innovation that characterized both the teaching and learning path, permeating the methodology of teachers and students. The Institute has provided participation in training courses, both internal and external, as well as in training courses in preparation for mobility. The Institute also participates in numerous local, regional, national, European and international projects. The fact of working on the planning already creates an opportunity for reflection and discussion within the Institute, but also with the partner institutions, favouring the stabilisation of the established / newly established networks. The Institute believes that the realization of the Erasmus + project was a unique opportunity to participate in activities of international scope, with lasting benefits for all the educational staff of the school and for the students but also for the whole educational community, including parents, as also found in the previous School to School partnership project (year 2016/2017) presented as best practice at the kick-offs of Indire 2019. The specific project objectives pursued were: - create motivating and interactive learning environments to respond to the training needs of students according to the European frameworks for the development of citizenship skills; - improve the levels of knowledge, competence and participation of young people; - to increase the diffusion, access and use of the information society in schools; - encourage learning systems throughout the life span; - promote research and personal study attitudes; - increase collaborative and communication skills between and with colleagues, students, stakeholders; - improve professional skills to teach how to recompose the bases of knowledge in a complex perspective aimed at overcoming disciplinary fragmentation and integrating it into new overall frameworks through the use of technologies; - designing learning units with the creation of pupil made products by promoting the technological qualities in their possession throughout their development phase; - promote digital communication as a quality factor for the service. The goals achieved were excellent. From the written reports of the participants (+ 96.30% degree of satisfaction), from the meetings carried out collectively between teachers, from the questionnaires filled out by the participating educational staff, parents, students, teachers, tutors and school managers, important results in the linguistic, technological and methodological fields are highlighted, as well as greater motivation; there is considerable participation and motivation for learning on the part of students, there is a very positive opinion on the part of parents. The results were achieved thanks to the application of the research-action methodology and collaborative learning: defining the problem, designing and activating educational paths, monitoring and evaluating the results also in comparison with other class groups. Both teachers and class groups have acquired digital skills and soft skills through laboratory practice, learning by doing, flipped learning, positive education, applying the tools directly in the reference contexts. Thanks to the project, the institute has activated two dedicated web platforms, two technological innovation projects "Scholastic Softwarehouse" and "Holographic Pyramid" and 41 personal blogs showing the paths chosen by the students, the specific objectives, the expected results, the products made, databases of good technological practices. The objectives were achieved through daily activities in the classroom also in collaboration with the team of teachers who shared the training offer project through learning units. In compliance with the proposed objectives, given the pandemic situation of the school years 2020/2021, the Institute has joined digital training programs for school staff for the promotion of distance learning and virtual classrooms to promote and support the acquisition of tools, methods and peculiarities of the operation of the above mentioned virtual classrooms and has also expanded the specific IT equipment for staff training, thus preparing the basis for the development of the digital skills of teachers and learners. The objectives pursued are and will be further implemented through both the School to School mobility projects, currently in the closing phase relating to the A.S. 2019-2022, extended due to covid, and through the mobility activities carried out as part of the "Accredited projects for mobility of learners and staff in school education2021-2027" of which the Bonifacio VIII Institute is coordinator and has the following topics: Environmental Sustainability and STEAM subjects (Science,Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
In a Europe that changes at great speed, under the pressure of technological innovations, increasing globalization and consistent migratory flows, new opportunities are continually created but also new challenges that schools must face by promoting change and innovation. In such a context, the Institute feels the need to constantly transform programs and make progress by finding new impetus in the perspective of transnational collaboration. The Institute, using a global and integrated approach, involving all staff in the definition of needs and communicating the benefits that can be obtained to the staff, to parents and to pupils, has identified the training needs in the field of mobility and European cooperation in line with its own European Development Plan, in synergy with the PTOF (3 year plan of the training offer) and with the other projects of the Institute, in particular projects related to alternation, innovation projects, teaching methodologies, the use of new technologies, the teacher training plan. In the 2016-2019 PTOF, cultural exchanges, travels and the command of the English language for students and teachers, innovation in teaching methodologies, the updating of teachers were among the strategic priorities linked to the improvement plan. Following a series of meetings between the school staff and the management, a series of training needs were identified and areas for improvement proposed, which were also subjected to the evaluation of the students, following the comparison, the areas in which to intervene were defined and the choice was further shared with the parents. Having also collected suggestions from the latter, the Institute specifically determined the areas for improvement to be included in the 2019-2021 European Development Plan: - growth of management skills, aimed at the development and growth of students (PTOF IN PUERO HOMO); - development of new knowledge and teaching methodologies, which allow participants to teach in an attractive and interactive fun way and based on the well-being of pupils (PTOF IN PUERO HOMO); - improvement of teaching and programs through the acquisition of skills in the use of social networks, media and web solutions (Didactic and Technology PTOF); - To have teaching staff able to create a maker space within the institute that helps to consolidate interdisciplinary learning (Didactic and Technology PTOF); - To offer staff and students the opportunity to mature and reflect on learning and teaching together with their counterparts from other schools and organizations ( International Networking Experiences PTOF). - To increase the spirit of belonging to Europe, knowledge of European school systems and a sense of European citizenship (PTOF International Experiences of Network)
