-Improving the level of the teachers' skills through greater mobility opportunities, in order to strengthen the internationalization of learning through the strengthening of the cooperation between the world of education and other European training agencies; -promoting the creation and awareness of a European area of lifelong learning to support the modernization of the education system of the “CASORIA 3 CARDUCCI KING”, also through the dissemination of good practices; - improving language teaching and learning to promote intercultural awareness that fosters social inclusion.
The “Casoria 3 - Carducci - King” Comprehensive Institute presents an audience of students from heterogeneous backgrounds. There are many students with Special Needs and at risk of dropping out of school. Especially for the latter ones, it is crucial to adopt some educational strategies, in order to make the school an attractive place, where the concept of “learning by doing” is at the center of the teaching-learning process. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to improve the training of teachers from the perspective of a “lifelong learning”. After a survey about the training needs of the institute's teachers, we identified a need to train and develop transversal skills, digital skills (ICT) and multilingual skills, which would affect all the sectors of education and training. This training becomes a prerequisite for the use of innovative and student-centered pedagogical approaches, and for the development of appropriate assessment and certification methods, based on learning outcomes; all in view of the internationalization of teaching and learning. After a debate at the collegial level, we considered that an innovative and motivating didactic approach, for both pupils and teachers, could be the CLIL methodology.
