Objectives

The general objective of this project was to train our school staff and obtain an impact of this training on school processes and educational activities.. The specific objectives: 1) start an Institute evaluation process at the system level and at the educational offer level; 2) Contribute to the construction of the European culture of inclusion; 3) Consolidate a work team to improve the Institute's European Development Plan; 4) Start collaborations with foreign schools aimed to realize new projects involving our students (eTwinning or Erasmus projects); 5) Improve the linguistic and digital skills of the school staff.

Background

In the last years we have invested energy and resources in order to create an inclusive school and to guarantee the well-being of all pupils (we payed external experts who supported pupils with SEN and their families, such as educators and linguistic and cultural mediators). At the same time, teachers felt the need to keep up to date on inclusion issues, but also to innovate their teaching. Following this request, our school organized training courses for teachers abroad, thanks to the Erasmus programme. The expected process was started (it is declared in our PTOF and in our European Development Plan): other teachers expressed the need to update themselves in order to improve their teaching and respond to the emerging needs of pupils and families. We submitted the application to allow teachers to participate in new training courses abroad but also to carry out job shadowing activities in European schools with the aim of acquiring knowledge, skills and good practices to be re-proposed in our schools and to contribute to the creating a European culture of inclusion.
