The Teaching Staff Board, the Institute Council, and the Class Councils have defined the following objectives: to increase the European dimension of the school by enhancing collaborations with foreign institutions; acquire skills related to alternative teaching methodologies and technologies; acquire skills related to the social and educational integration of students with special educational needs, refugees, and asylum seekers; acquire skills necessary to encourage creativity and innovation to enable students to develop the skills required for success in an increasingly difficult and competitive job market; and implement CLIL methodology and enhance language skills aimed at improving the quality of teaching from a European education perspective. More generally, the Institute looks to create a more cohesive school community with regard to the needs of innovation in educational approaches, more aware of its professional profile in the context of the local and international reference reality, more adaptable to the challenges posed to schools in the 21st century, and to the opportunities offered by the framework of European cooperation."
Istituto D’Oria is well aware of the Erasmus+, and believes that European integration and mobility are critical for education. It had participated to different programmes over the years to promote social inclusion and support the development of a more cohesive and united Europe. The school is located in a small town in the province of Turin, but its 800 students are quite heterogeneous, and the Institute hosts two different tracks, vocational and technical. The teaching staff wants to offer methodologically varied lessons, so that each student can feel at the center of a learning process no longer based solely on the centrality of content, but aimed at activating the students themselves. All activities are aimed at the need to improve the effectiveness of the teaching and, consequently, of the learning process. Consequently, it is essential to observe other educational realities, from which we hope to learn good practices both in the management of teaching and in the management of school environments and spaces, as well as the possibility of acquiring new skills and creative stimuli through specialized courses that help us in the planning of the educational offer.
